Kazakhstan is located to the south of Russia, the west of China, to the north of Turkmenistan and to the east of the Caspian Sea. Kazakhstan became independent from the Soviet Union in 1991 and is now a democratic state. It is a land of vast "steppes" or plains, spectacular mountains and modern cities. Russian is its chief language and Kazakh, similar to Turkish, is second. Many people also speak English.
Kazakh citizens are comprised of Russian, Chinese, Mongolian, Turkish, German and Korean ancestry. The culture is friendly, well educated and courteous.
Children Available:
The children who are available to be adopted are children 12 months and up. Occasionally a child may be a bit younger. Most children are of Asian heritage.
However, Caucasian children are available too. Healthy and special needs children are both available. Homes are especially needed for boys and older
children of Asian descent.

TRAVEL
Kazakhstan is a beautiful country to travel with your family. Almaty is fairly safe for a large urban area. North Americans must apply for a visa to travel to
Kazakhstan. CCIAA will assist you with the visa to travel. There are many tourist attractions and a lot to see in the country.
Travel can usually be expected within 5-8 months after dossier submission to Kazakhstan. Travel to Kazakhstan is required for approximately 30 days, but it may be broken into two trips to reduce the time in country. The first trip will be approximately 14 days, minimum, however for those couples where both cannot stay the entire time, one spouse may leave after the court hearing. Paperwork usually takes another 1-2 weeks after this. Travel time varies significantly from family to family, region to region, and judge to judge. It is not uncommon to be in country for a total of 4-5 weeks if the judge does not waive the appeal period.
